Sister Carol has been working hard as a female artist on the frontline internationally for over thirty years. Her music is rich with cultural values, social consciousness, and happy feelings. Over the years she has been a top featured artist on many festivals. Sister Carol is exceptionally talented on the mic and she is also mindful of the importance of her influence as an example to the people. She stands as a singer upholding love, truth, and dignity. Her prolific music career includes over 12 albums, a Grammy nomination for “Best Reggae Album” in 1997, “Most Outstanding Reggae Artist” two consecutive years 199 7 and 1998, and “Queen of Reggae” in 2000 in Detroit Michigan, New York City Council Proclamation celebrating Jamaica’s 39th year of independence and honoring Jamaicans in New York for outstanding cultural contribution to life in the city of New York in 2001, Institute of Caribbean Studies Wash. DC – “Cultural Heritage Award for Excellence in Music” in 2004, “Lifetime Achievement” in 2008 in Columbus Ohio, “Roots Women in Reggae” 2009 and others.

With numerous interviews in mainstream media and has been a guest twice on NBC’s David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien,New York at Nite with Clint Holmes WORT.V., VH1 with Nile Rodgers, Good Morning America with Bryant Gumbel as well as earning praises in the print media such as Billboard, The Village Voice and many others. She was the familiar voice behind NBCTV Night Music with Jools Holland and David Sanborn as the MC. In 1999 Tuff Gong, the label started by reggae icon Bob Marley released Sister Carol’s Isis the Original Womb-man. Beyond her music career she burst on the silver screen in 1986 in her first feature film “Something Wild” with Melaine Griffths and Jeff Daniels followed by “Married to the Mob” with Michelle Pfeiffer, Dean Sockwell and Matthew Modine in 1988 and most recently Oscar nominated “Rachel Getting Married” with Anne Hathaway. All three movies directed by the awarding Director Jonathan Demme.

Turbulence

Turbulence is a Jamaican reggae artist first discovered in 1999 by Philip “Fatis” Burrell. He has released numerous albums, performed across the world, and was featured in an episode of the BBC documentary series Storyville. He is also known for his song “Blood dem out” which was featured in a highly profiled freestyle ski movie called “Show and Prove”.

His breakout single, “Notorious”, brought Turbulence international acclaim. First released in 2004, “Notorious” rose to Number 1 on local and international Reggae/Dancehall charts in Jamaica, New York City, London, Toronto, and Japan in 2005, bolstered by the supporting music video by Rise Up director and cinematographer Luciano Blotta. The track was re-released as the feature track of the Notorious album in 2006.

Turbulence was featured as one of three main acts in the 2007 documentary film Rise Up, which documents Turbulence’s rise to prominence as an internationally recognized and nationally celebrated reggae artist, and highlights the political and socially active nature of his music.

Rise Up was screened at numerous film festivals including IDFA and Hot Docs, and the film won the Best Music Documentary category at the AFI/Discovery Channel Silverdocs Festival. The film also aired on the BBC and enjoyed a well received theatrical debut in Jamaica, where it was reviewed by the Jamaican Observer as the “Rise of a new Classic”.

Reggae singer Greg Rose was born in the St. Ann Parish of Jamaica in 1980. He got interested in music and performance early in life, recording first under the stage name Lil Ninja before shuffling through various monikers like Mr. Perfect, Perfect, and ultimately Perfect Giddimani. He began releasing music under the Perfect name in the early 2000s and broke through with the single “Hand Cart Bwoy” in 2004.

Excitement for this hit single scored him a record deal, and DHF Records released his debut album, Giddimani, in 2006. The next decade would bring a nonstop stream of music from Perfect Giddimani, with albums such as 2008’s Born Dead with Life, 2009’s Karma, 2011’s Back for the First Time, and many others arriving at a rate of almost one per year. He also released singles at a nonstop clip, issuing dozens of new songs and changing formats with the times from 7″ records to digital downloads to streamable content.

In late 2009 he formed his own label, Giddimani Records, as an outlet for his relentless creativity, and began releasing his own records as well as occasional collaborations. One such collaboration, 2017’s Chalice Row or Dig a Hole EP by Young Shanty, debuted at number one on Billboard’s reggae chart. Later that same year, Perfect‘s 11th album, Live My Life Again, was released and also spent time at the top of Billboard’s reggae chart.

BLAKKAMOORE

Born in Georgetown, Guyana, and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Grammy Nominated Singer-Songwriter Blakkamoore has long made a name for himself as a gifted and inspiring Reggae/Dancehall/Hip Hop/Dubstep artist – both nationally and internationally. His music has been described as “Urban World Music with a message.” Blakkamoore’s sense of melody, superb songwriting skills, and ability to effortlessly cross over genres have solidified his status as a relevant artist in the music industry.

First appearing on the classic “Sound Bwoy Bureill” by Smif-N-Wessun in 1995, Blakkamoore has put out countless singles, albums, and collaborations including “The General”, “Down In The Ghetto” and “Order Of Distinction”. Blakkamoore was also among the main writers and featured on Snoop Dogg’s Grammy-nominated 2013 reggae album, Reincarnated, and release as Snoop Lion.

His long-awaited new album ‘Upward Spiral’ was released May 1st, 2020 on Baco Records & Lustre Kings. The first single “Get Down Tonight” sees Blakkamoore and long-time songwriting and production partner Andrew “Moon” Bain (collectively known as Paperstars) reconnect with Snoop. After working with Snoop once more, BLAKKAMOORE says: “It was an awesome experience. Imagine being in the studio with a legend humble enough to give you creative control, talented enough to accomplish whatever we set out to create, and high enough to keep things lit the whole time.”

BLVK H3RO (pronounced Black Hero) is one of Jamaica’s most exciting and original young artists, but he’s far from new to the scene. The native has already built an impeccable track record and fervent following with his uplifting and ambitious modern reggae sound, while collaborating with the likes of Bunny Wailer, UB40, Equiknoxx, and Skillibeng. Even if you haven’t heard his music, you may have seen BLVK H3RO in campaigns for Carhartt, Clarks, Karl Kani, Levi’s and The Elder Statesman, among other celebrated fashion brands.

With his roots firmly planted in Jamaica’s rich musical soil, he’s ready to take his innovative sound and invigorating message worldwide with his sophomore album, Man On a Mission, coming soon from Delicious Vinyl Island, the Caribbean music imprint of iconic L.A. label Delicious Vinyl. The followup to 2019’s The Immortal Steppa boasts collaborations with fellow rising stars Teejay on “Rich And Blessed” the brand new single out now, NationBoss and Iotosh, and influences from afrobeats to jazz. Leading the hype is “It Nuh Easy,” a track which Jamaica’s prime minister, Andrew Holness, recently praised in a speech to the nation. Based in Chicago, Illuminati Congo’s sound dissolves the barrier between conscious and unconscious, reggae and hip hop, and light and dark, all the while maintaining a light-hearted, playful, childlike, and comedic musical uniqueness. Born in the San Francisco Bay Area USA, Young Shanty (aka Iyahson) seamlessly blends reggae, dancehall, hip hop, rap, soul, funk, and R&B together. Co-Founder of Chalice Row Records, Young Shanty currently releases music through his own imprint as well as parent label Giddimani Records.

The 2016 commercially released EP, Chalice Row or Dig a Hole received worldwide radio airplay and in April of 2017, it debuted on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart at #1, staying on the charts for 4 weeks. On June 30th, 2017, the concept album with producer Dr. Edward Love entitled Smokers Music, Vol. 1 was released. In its first week of release, it debuted at #9 on the Billboard Heatseekers (Pacific) albums chart and reached #8 on Amazon Music’s New Release Reggae Chart.

The Poor Can’t Take No More single, video & album was released in 2018. Filmed in Jamaica, the video gained rotation on various cable TV outlets in the Caribbean. Two Hip-Hop collaboration projects “Keep Shining” with Blakkamoore released in 2021 as well as “Congo Shanty” with Illuminati Congo in 2022.

Higher Quality is the new album out now featuring Lutan Fyah, Anthony B, and Blakkamoore. Young Shanty has toured and performed at both big and small events across the world, including in Canada, Belize, Jamaica, Germany, and throughout the USA.

Music played regularly in the house, like food for the soul, he grew up listening to all genres. Starting with artists like Bob Marley & The Wailers, Musical Youth, & Yellowman, the seeds of Rastafari & roots music were planted deep in his heart from a young age.

As a cultural singjay, Biblical embodies the fullness of a singer while blending chanting and poetic lyrics into one unique style. Biblical is also a producer, & the co-founder of Oneness-sound, an artistic collaborative. Live in concert, Biblical connects with the hearts of many with his rootsy energy, and clean inspiring vibrations. He brings an empowering stage presence, visionary lyrics, and a militant original style all firmly livicated to His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I and the betterment of I n I livity. Biblical’s lyrics carry one on a journey of upliftment, reflection, and affirmation, while the riddims penetrate deep within from start to finish.

There is Hope Renowned engineer and innovator, Dr. Edward Love has developed a method of time travel called ” Dub Phasing “. Using sound in combination with light, harmonic frequencies converge to bend space-time allowing the Dr to communicate with himself in the past. This method of travel only allows sound frequencies and light waves to move between time and space. For this reason, an Original Intelligence Unit made entirely of light and sound was developed as a bridge between dimensions to send messages of healing, progression, and support for the arts.

Presenting: The Traveler Designed to interpret music using light, sound, and energy waves, The Traveler is programmed to perform improvised versions of Dr. Loves music from the future, adding effects and arrangements accompanied by coordinated lighting, laser, and video show. This immersive combination makes every single DubnDope show uniquely different. Taking the instructions from himself in the future, the current Dr. Edward Love assists with the production of The Traveler’s appearances through the Dub Phase process.

Edward Love, professionally known as Dr. Edward Love, is an artist, producer, engineer, and musician. He primarily produces reggae music, though he has also produced and performed hip-hop and dancehall. Dr. Love has produced songs by an assortment of artists in the reggae genre including Anthony B., Sizzla, Capleton, Lutan Fyah, Luciano, and Mykal Rose. He is also the in-house engineer and producer for Chalice Row Records, having recorded scores of songs with Perfect Giddimani and Young Shanty.

Duke Campbell, a.k.a Bobo David is a founding member of Sizzla’s Judgement Yard who has distinguished himself over the years due to his extremely fiery delivery of purely conscious lyrics.

He first came to California on tour in 2007 and has since toured the west coast extensively.

Bobo David was heavily featured in the documentary film, “Sizzla and Judgement Yard – From The Garrison To The Stage” and has also been featured in many of Sizzla’s music videos, as well as Jah Mason and Joseph Shepherd’s “One-Two Order” music video.

Bobo David has released numerous albums and singles with various producers around the world.

KURRENCY KING

KURRENCY KING

Jamaican-born Kurrency King grew up in the small country town of Saint Mary’s with his four brothers, five sisters and lots of cousins and where his interest in making music began to spark. Due to the strength of the community, he grew up in and the love that his family provided, Kurrency King began to perform and later on record music in Jamaica before moving to the Sacramento, CA area where he had the chance to record his first full-length album, “Soldier of Love,” released in 2016. The reggae album that totes some of Kurrency King’s well-known singles, “Soldier of Love (Feat. Pandora Gunn)” and “Wanna Be with You (Feat. Saffire)” and the earth-loving track, “Keep River Clean.”

Since then, Kurrency King who performs live with One Love Nation Band has stayed busy in the studio recording and performing all over Northern CA. This summer, Kurrency King plans to release, “I Am Son,” a brand-new album inspirationally named after his nickname, “Son” that his father, known as “Sunny Man” fondly called him growing up. The first single on the album is “Rise and Shine” which is currently available on all popular digital music platforms also has a live performance music video that showcases the energy brought through Kurrency King.

It is important for Kurrency King to uplift people, especially taking care of the youth who need it the most. The album, “I Am Son” is not only a sweet reminder of his own father but also of the story of Abraham which can be found in the book of Exodus 3:13-15 in The Bible. The story goes that God spoke to Abraham, explaining that He is the God of his generation’s fathers, “I am who I am. Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I Am has sent me to you.’ Say this to the people of Israel.” The message to Abraham is to give solace that that the God speaking to Abraham has always been the same God of the Hebrews and will be remembered throughout all generations and in good faith.

Rising Buffalo Tribe is an original reggae band based out of Portland, OR established in 2009. Driven with the intention to fully submerge themselves in the art of roots reggae music, with the devotion to contributing something original to the timeless spiritual sound. The core group now being a four-piece is a tight rhythm section, emphasizing heavy drum and bass, to create ethereal dubscapes in the process. Their thematic music can be slow & mellow for thoughtful meditation, as well as change levels with ska & rocksteady to pave the way for a warm dance, harnessing the majestic vehicle of reggae music to dispel ignorance, and deliver understanding.

RBT also works as a backing band and has worked with some of the best in the industry including Blakkamoore, Messenjah Selah, Irae Divine, Arkaingelle, Kevin Kinsella, Mista Chief, & Zahira. Over the years RBT has opened up for and shared the stage with artists such as Bunny Wailer, The Wailing Souls, Black Uruhu, Don Carlos, The Wailers, Chezidek, Prezident Brown, Midnite, Protoje, Jah9, Kabaka Pyramid, Jesse Royal, Groundation + many others. The name JALLANZO is as unique and melodically beautiful as the innovative, transformational music he creates. At age five, Jallanzo’s talent surfaced when he fell in love with his toy guitar. His early love for music, like many Jamaican artists, was triggered by attending the local church. At age 13, he crafted a personal drum set from a collection of old buckets and pots and began performing in the community as “The Pan Vision One Man Band.” In 1994 he entered the Jamaican Tastee Talent Contest with his homemade drum set and shared the stage with King Yellowman. By the age of twenty, Jallanzo was writing and singing his own songs and was inspired to perform in local talent competitions.

Naturally shy, Jallanzo continued writing songs quietly behind the scenes. He listened intently to legendary Jamaican drummers such as Sly Dunbar, Leroy ‘Horsemouth’ Wallace, Santa Davis, Carlton Barrett, and Style Scott whose influence sharpened his skills and professionalism.

In the studio and onstage, Jallanzo continued to grow his reputation by working with many of Jamaica’s finest artists including Max Romeo, Xana Romeo, Azizzi Romeo, Luciano, Jimmy Riley, Frankie Paul, Mad Cobra, Sizzla, Warrior King, The Viceroys, The Mighty Diamonds, IJahman Levi, The Congos, Earl Chinna Smith, Gyptian, Jah9, Jesse Royal, I-Wayne, Lutan Fyah, Chezidek, Jah Mason, Mykal Rose, I-Wayne, Jah Sun and Spice.

Ras Ceylon is an educator, organizer and musical artist based out of Oakland, CA who is noted as the first Sri Lankan Hip-Hop artist to release an album (debut in 1999). He has been bringing uplifting messages to the masses for over 20 years, releasing 5 solo albums to date and appearing on multiple projects with notable Rap and Reggae artists. He is also a community activist working to empower youth around social justice and education. Ras Ceylon’s music reflects the Revolutionary lifestyle that he lives.

Born and raised in the North Philadelphia hip hop scene, Serious DeWitness then moved to the west coast and began a new fuse of hip hop and reggae vocal patterns with both Hip Hop inspired complex metaphors with the consciously inspired guidelines of Rastafari music.

Discovered by JR Reid at a performance, Serious was invited to 1Blood Family and went to record at 1Blood studios which styled collabs with both Jr Reid and his sons Andrew and Wada Blood. Serious has recorded at Tuff Gong, Anchor, and Gee Jam Studios in Kingston with legendary musicians and artists as well as collaborated with members of Wu-Tang. Serious DeWitness has seen airplay on radio and clubs in Jamaica, Africa, Japan, and all over the USA and is now prepared to both launch a new album and a Rocket of energizing tracks from the stage all 2022!
